Saam Chan
Saam Chan (Shen Chen), learned Wing Chun from King Fa Wui Goon actor, Cho Shun, when he had retired back to Poon Yu Village and decided to teach out of the Luen Yee Mo Kwoon school. Some accounts of Saam Chan's tradition state that Cho Shun learned from So Kai Ming. While Cho Hong Choi's branch perserves Cho Shun learned from Yik Kam. It is currently unknown if these are differant names for the same person or not. As was common in the those times, Sam learned Wing ChunKuen to protect his family and village from bandits.
Saam Chan moved to Ipoh, Malaysia, and at some point, began teaching a few students including Cheung Way Boe. It is known that Saam Chan only taught six students including Cheung. He also passed down historical knowledge and several weapons sets to Cho Hong Choi (who had also learned from Cho On and according to Cho Hong Choi's students, Cho Chuen).
Saam Chan's art is still preserved by his only known remaining student Cheung Way Boe, who operates a temple in west Penang. He is retired from active teaching.
