Gwok Gai
(1889-present)
Kwok Gai (Guo Jie) was born around 1899 and and first began studying his family's martial arts as a child. During the 1910s, he learned from Chan Chiu Hung Wing Chun Kuen and Mok Ga. After 7 years of learning, he studied with Leung Kai Ming an osteopathic doctor, learning more Wing Chun Kuen, though Dr. Leung didnt teach publicaly. At age 24 years old,(1930s) Gwok began studying under Lao Dat-Sang (Pao Fa Lien) alongside his brother, Gwok So.
Kwok Gai is still alive as of 2007 at age 96. He is retired from active teaching, but remains active promoting the martial arts through the Foshan Jing Wu Association.
